Conoship awarded for a new TSHD design
Conoship has been awarded with an order for the design of a series of three Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers by the Dutch dredging company Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. This new design is a further development of the TSHD ‘Shoalway’ which has been delivered in 2010. The ‘Shoalway is successfully operating on several locations within Europe now. The operational experiences of this ship shall be implemented in the new design.
For Conoship this means a further extension of their dredging knowledge. Beside the numerous dredging designs for our member yard Barkmeijer, Conoship developed several dredging designs for Dutch and international companies.
Our design activities are not limited to newbuilding only. We are currently working on a conversion of a Conoship designed coastal vessel into a trailing suction hopper dredger, equipped for sand winning and maintenance work.
