Besides ship design and engineering, Conoship International is strongly involved in research projects concerning alternative fuels, and sustainable shipping with the aim of using these results in new designs and products. The results of our research have already led to the launch of successful start-ups.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the management of ship design and engineering projects from concept development through to detailed design
  • Coordinating project activities, planning, and schedules together with the Project Manager to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
  • Working closely with engineers, designers, and naval architects to support effective collaboration within the project team
  • Monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks or bottlenecks, and helping the team address them proactively
  • Supporting compliance with applicable regulations, classification society rules, and client requirements
  • Preparing and organizing design reviews, client meetings, and key project milestones
  • Managing and maintaining project documentation, including technical specifications and design deliverables
  • Contributing to project reporting and internal status updates to ensure transparency and informed decision-making

Who are you?

Please note that only candidates with a valid EU work visa will be considered for this role.

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Marine Technology, Project Management, or a related field
  • You are a recent graduate or have a few years of relevant experience in ship design, engineering, or a technical project environment
  • You have at least a basic understanding of naval architecture principles and ship systems
  • You are organized, proactive, and eager to develop yourself
  • You have good communication skills and enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams
  • You are comfortable working in a dynamic project-based environment

What do we offer you?

  • A competitive salary aligned with your education and experience
  • Intensive on-the-job coaching and mentoring by experienced Project Managers

  • Opportunities for professional growth and development
  • An active staff association that organizes quarterly events

Roel Blom, Project Manager

Roel Blom, Project Manager

I started at Conoship as an intern, and I’ve been working for the company for ten years. What I like the most about working at Conoship is the team. We are very open with each other and discuss projects and challenges. Our colleagues are always very helpful and insightful. When you finish your studies at university, your knowledge is very technical, and working for a company with an experienced team helps you better understand how to apply it to a project. You improve your understanding of concept design, stability, hydrodynamics, regulations, etc. A great milestone for me at Conoship was developing one of the first Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) calculations and having the technical files approved by Lloyd’s Register. With the implementation of the EEXI, we can indicate the energy efficiency of a ship compared to a baseline.”

I’ve been working with Conoship for 9 years, and I feel like I’ve grown with the company, taking on more responsibilities and managing bigger projects. What I like the most about working at Conoship is the freedom of thought and input everyone can contribute when we tackle challenging projects. We have a diverse team and can rely on our colleagues for different points of view. Conoship is essentially a design company, and we are truly innovative. We get to implement new technologies that we work with in research projects directly into new-build projects for shipowners. When you start at the company, you are free to choose the disciplines you prefer, whether it’s naval architecture, structure, piping, research, or management. Usually, you get a lot of responsibility very quickly, and you’ll be talking to your clients, feeling that you are making a difference in their projects.”

We offer

A diverse and challenging working environment with enthusiastic and driven colleagues in an internationally oriented organization. Conoship’s strength lies in its ability to translate the complex process of ship design and shipbuilding between the customer’s wishes and what is possible, and at the same time make the impossible possible.

Conoship stands for a personal approach and uses the talents of all disciplines and parties to achieve the best possible result.
