New Managing Director

Nieuwenhuis brings a wealth of experience and skills in the fields of management, research, design and engineering to his new role. He acquired these during his years as Manager of the Design Department at Conoship. Having received a PhD from Delft University of Technology, where he was also trained, Nieuwenhuis likes to stimulate and coach young professionals in a multidisciplinary and cross-cultural environment. Besides his new role, Nieuwenhuis will remain responsible for the Design Department.

Conoship has a proven track record of pushing the envelope and I see it as my challenge to make Conoship grow further in its position as an expert in ship design, engineering, project development and maritime business development. In 1952 Conoship International was founded as a central design and purchase office for a group of Northern Dutch shipyards. Today we are an independent company. Our activities have expanded and we provide services to shipyards and ship owners all around the world. Key to our central role in the complex process of shipbuilding, is our personal approach, resulting in highly customized designs to meet the specific needs of each client. Over 2,000 ships, operating around the world and unique at their launch, were built based on our designs.
