After the launch of the Frisian Future, the first ECO-8500 High Cube Multi Purpose Cargo vessel, Chowgule Shipyard has now delivered the second vessel in the series. The series consists of a total of eight vessels with different owners:
- Three vessels for Leonhardt & Blumberg, including the Hansa Anholt
- Three vessels for Boomsma Shipping
- Three vessels for JR Shipping
All vessel will be chartered by NewTide Chartering, part of the Boomsma Group.
“Climate change can no longer be ignored and a ‘change of course’ is absolutely necessary. Regulations to achieve a greener shipping industry are coming into force. For the short term, our focus is on fuel consumption reduction. As a consequence, emissions are lowered.”
The next vessel in the series, Hansa Bornholm, has already been launched and is nearing delivery. She will soon join her sister as part of the fleet of Leonhardt & Blumberg.
