Design philosophy of the Belisaire
This vessel has been developed to carry oil products with a flash point below 60°C and chemicals in accordance with the technical equipment and specifications. The vessel has a single propeller propulsion system. Machinery, auxiliary equipment and the accommodation area is located aft. One main engine is installed, equipped for IFO 380, driving a controllable pitch propeller through a reduction gearbox. For generation electric power, three diesel generators, one shaft alternator and one harbor / emergency generator will be installed. Auxiliary engines run on gas oil. Six segregations with twelve cargo tanks will have a total capacity of 12650m3. Furthermore the vessel is equipped with a slob tank of 316m3, which also can be used as a cargo tank. A double skin and double bottom with L-shaped ballast tanks will enclose the cargo tanks. The aft peak tank can be used as ballast water or wash water tank.
