Design philosophy of the Kasteelborg
The conversion of the Kasteelborg established an early benchmark in repurposing standard PSV hulls into high-availability Walk-to-Work (W2W) assets. Similar in operational profile to the Kroonborg, the vessel was engineered to provide safe offshore technician transfer and logistics support to unmanned offshore platforms.
Motion-Compensated Gangway Integration: Designed the structural deck foundation and interface for the motion-compensated gangway system, ensuring secure access to offshore structures.
Accommodation Block Expansion: Delivered structural detail engineering to extend the superstructure, creating accommodation facilities for offshore technician crews.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Executed FEA verification across the hull-to-pedestal interface to handle dynamic forces exerted by the gangway system during operation.
Rescue & Emergency Infrastructure: Integrated support foundations for fast rescue craft (FRB) and standby equipment required for emergency offshore response.
