Design philosophy of the Kingsborg
Converting an Ulstein PX121 platform into a specialized subsea support vessel required adapting the open deck layout to support heavy subsea equipment, specialized gear foundations, and project personnel. Conoship International executed the detailed engineering and structural analysis needed to convert the vessel for subsea operations without compromising structural integrity.
Subsea Equipment & Crane Foundations: Engineered structural reinforcements and deck integration for specialized subsea handling equipment and deck cranes.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Conducted localized FEA structural modeling to verify load distribution and hull stresses under heavy point-load conditions on the working deck.
Accommodation Expansion: Completed detail engineering to extend living quarters and operational control rooms to house specialized subsea project teams.
Rescue & Support Integration: Designed structural foundations for auxiliary rescue craft and specialized davit systems to maintain offshore safety compliance.
