Compressed Biomethane Hybrid Workboat KRATT

The 38-meter multipurpose workboat design was developed to solve a complex operational challenge for state fleet management: consolidating multiple specialized vessel roles—buoy maintenance, fairway maintenance, oil spill recovery, search and rescue (SAR), and marine research. All this into a single operational platform.

Key characteristics of the engineering scope include precision space and weight distribution to accommodate heavy deck equipment, alongside a low-emission propulsion arrangement featuring four 350-kW Compressed Biomethane (CBM) generators and a 400-kWh battery system. Conoship delivered the complete basic and detailed design packages, including structural engineering and 3D piping layouts, executed the CBM fuel HAZID safety assessment, and provided class and flag state regulatory support throughout construction.
