For, and in close cooperation with the owner, Albros Shipping, Conoship developed an ‘Open Top’ vessel especially designed for the transport of dry cargo and containers. Optional heavy lift transport through SPMT vehicle by means of a stern ro-ro ramp on the vessel can be added to the design.
The challenge in this design was to obtain the maximum deadweight within the draught limit of 4.50 m, and keep the focus on the weight and sustainability of the ship’s construction in combination with excellent fuel consumption. Therefore the design was optimized through CFD calculations.
