What initially attracted me to Conoship was the opportunity to work on diverse projects where I could both learn new skills and apply my experience. The company’s location in Groningen, a key centre of maritime innovation was also appealing to me. Conoship fosters a collaborative and supportive environment that keeps me curious. I’ve significantly improved my skills, integrated my ideas, and witnessed the tangible results of my work, which is truly inspiring. My advice for those starting their careers is to keep learning and never hesitate to ask for help. Your experience is built step by step. As my colleague often says, ‘If you don’t make mistakes, you do nothing.’ At Conoship, professionals from various specialities collaborate, viewing projects from multiple perspectives. This combination of knowledge, challenging projects, and freedom is the ideal environment for innovative solutions.”

I started at Conoship as an intern, and I’ve been working for the company for ten years. What I like the most about working at Conoship is the team. We are very open with each other and discuss projects and challenges. Our colleagues are always very helpful and insightful. When you finish your studies at university, your knowledge is very technical, and working for a company with an experienced team helps you better understand how to apply it to a project. You improve your understanding of concept design, stability, hydrodynamics, regulations, etc. A great milestone for me at Conoship was developing one of the first Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) calculations and having the technical files approved by Lloyd’s Register. With the implementation of the EEXI, we can indicate the energy efficiency of a ship compared to a baseline.”

I’ve been working with Conoship for 9 years, and I feel like I’ve grown with the company, taking on more responsibilities and managing bigger projects. What I like the most about working at Conoship is the freedom of thought and input everyone can contribute when we tackle challenging projects. We have a diverse team and can rely on our colleagues for different points of view. Conoship is essentially a design company, and we are truly innovative. We get to implement new technologies that we work with in research projects directly into new-build projects for shipowners. When you start at the company, you are free to choose the disciplines you prefer, whether it’s naval architecture, structure, piping, research, or management. Usually, you get a lot of responsibility very quickly, and you’ll be talking to your clients, feeling that you are making a difference in their projects.”

    We offer

A diverse and challenging working environment with enthusiastic and driven colleagues in an internationally oriented organization. Conoship’s strength lies in its ability to translate the complex process of ship design and shipbuilding between the customer’s wishes and what is possible, and at the same time make the impossible possible.

Conoship stands for a personal approach and uses the talents of all disciplines and parties to achieve the best possible result.
